Cuff.

30 Jan

After Coachella and the indie underground fashion scene on the internet introduced tribal head-wear as a firm fashion favourite (best worn with neon blue face paint markings), Festival tribals in every shape and form hit the high-street. From Aztec print ponchos to arm cuffs and body chains, the wild look infiltrated and invaded our wardrobes. Now, ready for summer a new jewellery piece has started with the trendsetters – If you want to be an early adopter, you need to find yourself an ear cuff.

You can wear them doused in chains for a rock’n'roll punk look, or sweep your hair dramatically to the side and wear one of the neon feathered styles with charcoal smudged eyes. Take your pick…

The Lady Is A Vamp – Darker Fashon Inspiration

27 Jan

Vamp fashion was huge a couple of years ago, but it seems now celebrities such as Lady Gaga are bringing leather, studs and lace back into fashion. Dark, brooding colours and bright lips teamed with biker jackets and shorts are the best way of pulling this look together. Take your inspiration from below and make your own dark look.

Spring Up

25 Jan

I know it’s still officially winter, but today I noticed the spring bulbs are starting to pop up. What better colour inspiration for right now that crocus violets, shocks of daffodil yellow and snowdrop white? The flowers round this time of year remind me of Dior Couture from 2010, before Galliano fell from his throne. It was one of the most beautiful fantasy collections ever, with all the model’s dresses like bright blooms. Here’s a few ideas for how to wear this trend- not quite Dior gowns, but still great for a spring sunshine day.

Colour Pop

24 Jan

I admit, I wasn’t a fan when neon and bright colours first graced the catwalk last year, I thought it was a bit ridiculous and unwearable. But now people have had time to style it into their wardrobes, I quite like the results. If neon brights are done in small pops, rather than overbearing clashes, they can work to the most wonderful dramatic effect! Here’s some inspiration to get you started on your own colour pop look!

Crystals, earthy pieces of quartz and natural gemstones are coming into the style radar lately, something about their unrefined quality and organic glitter really works, and there’s something perfect about a delicate chiffon dress juxtaposed with rough rocky jewellery. So mined for my favorite pieces on Etsy to deliver to you.

Titanium quartz has the exciting quality of producing a host of petrol colour rainbows, and the untamed shapes of the crystal means nomatter where it is placed it picks up different colours from the light; golds, peacock shades and slate blues. You can buy this knuckleduster style ring at AstralEYE, who also sells a huge range of quartz and crystal jewellery.

If you want to spoil yourself with a unique couture style piece, then this cuff from Doloris Petunia is perfect. Wear it to any glamorous occasion, or be decadent and add it to your favourite skinny jeans and blazer combo. Make sure you check out the rest this seller’s shop; you can fulfil all your jewellery needs from glitzy tribal cuffs to elegant 1920′s style bridal headbands.

If you’re style is more ethereal, get yourself this ring from For The Cross Jewelery. The fiery opal encased in the ring makes me swoon a little, the colours make it look like a dragon’s eye, and the pretty detail is reminicent of Dior Couture rings from a couple of years ago.

Finally if you’re like me and you’re  a little reluctant to leave the sci-fi-glitter-glamour behind from the days of Nu-rave then this shop is more than perfect. The description states “Handmade Galactic Warrior Princess Jewelery.” So what’s not to love? You can get these gorgeous titanium crystal bolos at Marina Fini. It’s also a great idea to check out her website at www.marinafini.com, she does some gorgeous abstract photography of her accessories.
